One of the most common questions about having a will a lot of people say if I have no assets do I need a will and the resounding answer is a yes what a will is it's pretty much if you think about it similar to insurance sometimes you don't want to wait until an accident occurs to have insurance right so no we never know when the time we may pass away or then a will take your place will happen so we want to make sure that we cover catch-all provisions that can cover any assets that you may or may not have at the time of passing so even if you don't have any assets now you may have assets later so any tangible real property specific property to any kids that you may or may not have you can always have those catch-all provisions and amend it and change it as your life progresses but it's very important you could always have a will to always have even if it's a small estate anything that you have in your name is an asset so feel free to protect that and protect yourself moving on forward through life all the time
