Most homeowners believe this and they are completely wrong. Your HOA cannot just fine you whenever they want. There's a process for fining a homeowner as a result of a violation. You need to receive notice and you need to have a hearing in front of a violations committee. Did you not get notice? Did you not get a hearing? That's an improper fine.
